Electronic Frontier Foundation
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is a non-profit group founded in 1990 that acts on behalf of consumers and the general public, fighting in the courts against the US government and large corporations in cases about digital rights, where it would be extremely expensive for a person to litigate.
Thanks to a special donation, EFF confers prizes for finding huge primes. It is expected that these prizes will encourage collaborative computing.
