Free-DC Drive 2

From Prime-Wiki

Logo.svg This article is only a stub. You can help PrimeWiki by expanding it.

Purpose

Searching for top-5000 Riesel primes for k = 6000 - 7000 from n = 410000 excluding k's reserved by others. 378 k's were searched.

95 known k's were excluded from the drive including all k = 6200 - 6300. See exclusions here. Excluded k's are on the right side of the slash "/" shown in the 2nd batch. The remaining 27 excluded k's are unknown at this time.

Status

  • Suspended: About 2010-06-06 at approximately n = 560000.

Notes

Primes were reported in Free-DC's Prime Search thread here.

The drive formally omitted n = 485000 - 490000 per the final statement of this post. The project was known to skip forward n-ranges to keep primes in the top-5000 but often this was not stated.

An unusually small number of primes were reported in the n = 530000 - 550000 range. This likely extends to the n = 520000 - 560000 range. Some n-ranges were likely skipped for the above reason.

The suspended date is the date of the final Free-DC prime where k = 6000 - 7000 and n ≤ 560000 reported in the final 2nd drive post and at top-5000 primes.

The post here refers to the high-weight drive that was run on the same port as Drive 2. The drive was restricted to high-weight k's only. The ranges searched were k = 3400 - 4000 & k = 6000 - 7000 for about n = 700000 - 800000 and k = 7000 - 8000 for about n = 750000 - 1000000. The drive began on 2010-12-11 and was suspended on 2011-04-27.
