Scott Kurowski is the founder of Entropia Inc. a California based company set up as a startup in the field of distributed computing.

GIMPS was, in essence, the proof of concept project to show investors that distributed computing had a commercial future.

Entropia grew to collaborate with a number of major technology companies including IBM and British Aerospace in the field of distributed computing, bringing PC based grid computing solutions to such markets as Health Care, Life Sciences, and others, but ceased trading in 2004. Kurowski, who had already left the company, retained the rights to the PrimeNet server which now sits in a commercial data centre.
